Big Apple Through Dominican Pie's Eyes
Welcome to NYC, were things aren't always what they seem.

Blogalicious

It seems as if the journal and diary have been replaced by the blog. I've given in to the temptation and finally started blogging, not so much because that's what everyone is doing, but because I'm a writer and I always want to share ideas, words, life basically.

I don't know what this to be another dry, dull, endless blog, about me and what a horrible or wonderful day I've had, how great or lousy my boyfriend is in or out of bed, how my boss is a complete moron or "like totally" terrific, how nit-picky and whiny my mother is, and how my friends are self-centered. All of this could very well be true or not, but either way its not the point of this blog, the point of this blog is to show you the unseen NYC (New York City, in case you didn't know).

New York City is one of the biggest cities in the entire world. Some people come here from all over the earth just to clog up our streets, and spend an obscene amount of money on over-priced merchandise. Now, when I say obscene I mean a midget, fucking a donkey, while a man taking pictures, in a bugs bunny suit jerks off, that kind of obscene.

This is my way of saving a little piece of the NYC that I have known, loved and hated for most of my life. You see because they, and by they I mean the rich and powerful people, who can't seem to be rich or powerful enough, are planning on turning this city into a country club. People won't be able to live here unless they make over $100,000 a year or more. This is my way of remembering and telling the stories that years from now historians will have whitewashed and dumbed-downed.

But if all you know of NYC is what you've seen in the movies you might be a bit disillusioned. If all you know of this city is what you've seen on TV, or read in some newspaper or magazine, you might think that living here is better than Disneyland. What is often unseen is that a few blocks north of Saks Fifth Avenue live some of the most poverty stricken citizens in this country. What the media doesn't show, what they don't want to tell you, I will.

So think of me as your tour guide, and I'm not only taking you to the regular tourist spots, oh no my tech savvy darlings, I will take you up, down, in, out and all through out this big old town that seems to never go out of style.

I hope that you will join me on this ride through NYC, and if you have any suggestions, anything about the city that you would like to know more about just post a comment and I will do my best to answer all of your questions.
